Colin Kaepernick is no longer playing with NFL since they removed him two years now after the controversy. But that’s not stopping him on using his previously earned fortune for meaningful things. Even his latest campaign with Nike benefits his charity campaign, Know Your Rights. And there’s nothing better than Colin Kaepernick could do with his money. Here’s what he’s doing in the Super Bowl 2019!

No wonder fans on Twitter are voting for him so that he can come back on the field in time for the Super Bowl!

Colin Kaepernick And Charity

Colin Kaepernick was recently the face on Nike’s Just Do It campaign. Obviously, the entire thing became a controversy as soon as it was released to the public. Considering Colin Kaepernick’s dismissal from NFL, his appearance with Nike was causing a lot of outrage in people. Many even started burning their Nike apparel making it a very trending topic all across the world. Basically, people have still not forgiven Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand up when the national anthem started. Although, he did it as a sign of protest against police brutality and racial injustice, his career surely suffered a lot as a consequence. He was banned from playing for NFL soon afterwards but that really did not affect his popularity in any way.

After Colin Kaepernick was restricted from the fields, he turned to activism. And started dedicating his time, money and efforts towards helping charity organizations that inspired him. From the money he made during the six NFL seasons, Kaepernick pledged to donate $1 million to various charities. And ones that worked for a variety of causes including social justice and education. In fact, he even invited other celebrities including Meek Mill, Serena Williams, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant to join him in this giving streak.

What’s The Real Deal With Nike?

It seems like the biggest story in sports- the whole new Nike campaign is not just helping Colin Kaepernick make money. But it’s also donates money to his Know Your Rights campaign. This campaign attempts to raise awareness on higher education, self-empowerment and also instruction to properly interact with law enforcement in various scenarios. The organization has been continually hosting workshops in 4 different US cities to help them know more about their rights. It asserts this in 10 points including free, healthy, brilliant, alive, and trusted.

Know Your Rights campaign is mostly funded by the Colin Kaepernick Foundation. But now it seems that Nike might be playing it’s part with it too. Kaepernick made it official through his Instagram account. And claimed that all the profits earned from the Limited Edition jersey featuring his name will go to the Know Your Rights campaign. He even expressed his gratitude to the ones who supported this journey.

It looks like Colin Kaepernick and Nike have a long way to go together. Apart from the initial endorsement and commercial, reports claim that Nike will be doing a whole set of merchandise with him. But at least the formal NFL star is putting his riches to noble causes.

Here’s how Miley Cyrus honored Colin Kaepernick in her new music video of “Nothing breaks like a Heart”.
