The music video shows Charli D’Amelio dancing all around Lil Huddy aka Chase Hudson as he is battling his inner thoughts of loneliness and him missing his beloved.

I feel so alone in a crowded place
Every conversation feels so fake
Everything I touch always seems to break
I get so depressed when I hear your name

The cinematography and choreography done in ‘America’s Sweetheart’ is really beautiful as Charli’s dancing encapsulates the feelings of turmoil that Lil Huddy is feeling.

Ohh I don’t really give a sh*t if you stay
I don’t really give a sh*t if you go
I don’t really give a sh*t either way
Either way I feel alone…

It also hits home when Lil Huddy sings his heart out saying that he would feel alone despite his love staying, sharing that at times even those we love can’t help end our loneliness.

Then there are some lyrics that seem to be related to the tumultuous relationship he had with Charli D’Amelio

Last year, Chase Hudson was accused of cheating on Charli D’Amelio after he sent Nessa Barrett an explicit picture of himself. The drama got messy and Chase claimed that he only kissed Nessa when they were both single. Furthermore, he denied the cheating accusation. Many other TikTokers got invovled such as Nessa’s boyfriend at the time, Josh Richards and his friend Bryce Hall. Interestingly enough, Jaden Hossler (who’s now dating Nessa) came to Lil Huddy’s house to confront him about everything that was happening. During this, Lil Huddy also had ‘exposed’ everyone as he claimed that everyone in the Sway House had cheated on their girlfriends as well naming Jaden Hossler, Josh Richards and Griffin Johnson. Though, Charli D’Amelio called Chase Hudson out for dragging others and not taking accountability for his own actions. Lil Huddy ended up deleting the expose tweet. Bryce Hall and Josh Richards ended up making a diss track on Lil Huddy called ‘Softish’.

The situation got resolved, ultimately the two broke up on good terms. And the more recent drama focuses on how Jaden ‘betrayed’ Josh’s trust by going out with Nessa when she and Josh were on a mutually decided break from their relationship. Many are pointing out how Chase Hudson aka Lil Huddy was right all along about the lack of faithfulness amid the Sway Boys (in reference to Jaden Hossler).

When all the drama was unfolding, Lil Huddy was painted out to be the villain and the bad guy. Meanwhile, there was nothing but love for Charli D’Amelio. The lyrics seem to be about this incident as he sings out:

And here we are, I’m the bad guy
And you’re America’s sweetheart…

Charli and Lil Huddy might be dating again?

But Charli D’Amelio and Lil Huddy started to hang out more often again and became close. In August 2020, she told Paparazzi that there was no bad blood between her and Chase:

“Yeah I mean, I’m friends with everyone. I don’t have bad blood or anything… So everything’s like chill. We’re all friends, we all do the same thing,”

There were making some TikToks and YouTube videos together too and collaborated on several videos together with their mutual friends Larray, James Charles, Noah Beck and Dixie D’Amelio in October 2020.

And there were many rumors that Charli and Chase are dating again. They were seen going out to dinner together in February 2021 to celebrate Lil Huddy’s song ‘The Eulogy of You and Me’.

Even though their relationship is not officially confirmed yet, the music video ‘America’s Sweetheart’ may be a hint at something.

Chase Hudson aka Lil Huddy took to Twitter to talk about how this music video and song ‘means everything to him’:
