After one Vlog Squad member (Durte Dom) was accused of r*pe, the YouTuber and his channel faced a huge setback. Recently, he revealed that he has not made a penny from YouTube for at least five years. Despite that, he is not ready to say goodbye to the platform.
At just 25, Dobrik is worth $30 million or more.
Prior to being a successful YouTuber, Dobrik was a hit on Vine. However, he transitioned to YouTube in 2013. Shortly after, David Dobrik’s YouTube channel became among the most popular ones. At the moment, his vlog channel, ‘Vlog Squad’ is among top 200. Despite his success on the platform, that is not the only place he makes money from. It would not be wrong to say that he likes to be everywhere. From making vlogs to streaming on Twitch, from investing in apps to launching his perfume, he has done it all. Similarly, the sponsors also pay him. Therefore, Dobrik’s net worth is around $20 to $30 million.
Few weeks ago, he hinted that it might be time for him to quit making vlogs.
Since the controversy with Durte Dom, the popularity of Vlog Squad and David Dobrik’s YouTube success might have ended. Therefore, the YouTuber is also thinking of moving on. A few weeks ago, he hinted that he might be ready to quit vlogging on an episode of VIEWS podcast. He said:
“I think I did what I wanted to do with the vlogs. It’s like when a late-night show host is about to quit, and he’s like I’ve done everything I wanted to do here. I did it. I had fun. I’ve got to do something else. That’s how I feel about the vlog… I just want to try something new. I’m like 25, and like when the f**k am I going to stop vlogging? Like, when does the next thing happen? Am I just going to vlog for the rest of my life?”
Recently, it was revealed that David Dobrik’s YouTube channel has not generated any money in years.
During the latest episode of VIEWS podcast, David Dobrik talked about importance of money and his philosophy to use it to make others happy. To which, Jason Nash revealed that David Dobrik’s YouTube channel makes zero dollars. In response to this, Vlog Squad founder said:
“Yeah. That’s f**ked up. I was thinking about that the other day. For the people who don’t know, I haven’t made a dollar off YouTube in like three to four years. I had a meeting with a paid platform person. I was like yeah, let’s do it. But after the meeting, I went f**king gray in the face.”
Despite not generating any money, the YouTuber still makes content every week. Although he does not get any money from his YouTube channel, he also has other income sources. Therefore, it’s all good for Dobrik.
