How Has Chris D’Elia’s Career Been Affected By Sexual Harassment Accusations?

Here's how sexual harassment and sexual misconduct allegations have affected Chris D'Elia's career as a comedian and an actor.

The accusations that Chris D’Elia was sexually harassing underage girls went viral on social media. As a result, the actor received widespread condemnation from several fellow comedians. However, condemnation is one thing and action by studios and agencies is another. So, how have these accusations affected D’Elia’s career?

CAA agents fired Chris D’Elia

The most significant report we’ve heard about D’Elia’s career is from the Career Arts Agency (CAA). They have fired Chris D’Elia as a client. Moreover, the management company 3 Arts Entertainment also pulled the plug on D’Elia, on account of the allegations that he sexually harassed underage girls.

D’Elia has had quite a successful career as a comedian and as an actor. Ever since he dropped out of NYU in 2006, he has done fairly well. His real breakthrough role, however, came in 2011 with co-star Whitney Cummings on a Sitcom named Whitney. However, she was one of the first one to speak against the actor/comedian when the allegations against D’Elia surfaced. She said:

It’s taken me a couple of days to process the information I have learned about Chris. I’m devastated and enraged by what I’ve read and learned. This is a pattern of predatory behavior. This abuse of power is enabled by silence. Now that I’m aware, I won’t be silent. Girls should be able to be a fan of a comedian they admire without becoming a sexual target. It’s the adult’s responsibility to be an adult.

Other than that, Chris D’Elia also appeared in a series called Workaholics. There were episodes in that series in which D’Elia featured as a child molester. Comedy Central, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have removed those episodes as well. This is the major blow that the actor/comedian has taken since the allegations surfaced. Since then, there have been no reports of D’Elia being hired for any new kind of work.

Widespread condemnation

Apart from streaming platforms censoring D’Elia, actors and comedians in the industry are calling him out for his predatory behavior. Other than Cummings, Bobby Lee, Theo Von, and Bryan Callen and Brendan Schaub have spoken out against D’Elia. They have condemned his actions. However, there’s one popular comedian who is yet to say a word – Joe Rogan. He has not mentioned Chris D’Elia once in any of his podcasts yet. Moreover, D’Elia came on his show as early as April and is a good friend of Rogan’s.

So, these are the major consequences that Chris D’Elia has faced since the allegations surfaced. We don’t know of any legal action involved yet. But of course, if that happens, then Hollywood will have a keen eye on what goes on in the case.

  1. You do realize that age of consent is 16 where the accuser girl was living. As is most of North America. You only have to be 18+ to get quadruple penetrated on camera but a year or 2 younger and it’s creepy? Wake up prudish people why do y’all bottle feed young adults like baby’s?
