Netflix has, recently, announced the cast for Shadow And Bone. The casting director Suzanne Smith has officially released the ensemble cast of the forthcoming fantasy Shadow and Bone with newcomer Jessie Mei Li playing the lead character Alina. In addition, The punisher fame, Ben Barnes will portray General Kirigan/the Darkling — the commander of a magical military elite. The upcoming show, in fact, is a series adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows novels.

Suzanne Smith is a reputable name in entertainment for her perfect picks. She, in fact, has  Alien vs. Predator (2004), Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) and True Romance (1993) on her credits.
Bird Box writer, Eric Heisserer is the producer of the series which is directed by Lee Toland Krieger. Eric assured that the characters are drawn exactly as they are illustrated in the manuscript.

The Plot Of “Shadow And Bone”

The 8-part series, Shadow and Bone is the story of  Alina (Li), a young soldier who discovers something powerful that ultimately unite her country. The pretty soldier, thus, encounters perilous enemies to save her nation. Alina, in fact, realizes about the dormant power when she finds her best friend terribly wounded. This is the ultimate power that can save her calamitous country from evil occupancy.

Netflix announced the show back in January. The YA fantasy showcased an imaginary land (reminiscent of Imperial Russia) destroyed by war. The destination, in fact, is inhabited with magical citizens Grisha. On the other hand, a dark entity ‘Shadowfold’ splits the nation in two.

Alina, in fact, schooled expertly in the royal court as a member of the Grisha, the magical aristocrats. Alina, thus, unveils the secrets of the Grisha and her own strengths in this fantasy drama.

As a matter of fact, this Netflix Series is a strong contender of other upcoming fantasy drama like Amazon Video’s The Wheel of Time and HBO’s His Dark Materials. Moreover, If Shadow and Bone do well nothing can halt to develop extra seasons or spinoffs. The possibility augments because The Shadow and Bone novel is just the first in a trilogy, and “Six of Crows” also possesses its sequel. Hence, fans are anxiously waiting for this Netflix show release date announcement.
