For Millennials. By Millennials.
One of the top singers of this decade, Lana Del Rey is coming back again with new releases. Recently, in her IGTV, the Don’t Call Me Angel singer announced that she will be releasing a spoken word album on January 4th, 2020.
She also told that this album will cost only “around a dollar”, explaining that thoughts are meant to be shared. She believes it’s better if more people listen to them. Amazingly, a portion of that one-dollar cost will also go to Native American organizations.
Lana Del Rey Wants To Share Her Thoughts
“I had a thought for a while about how I wanted the album to be around a dollar because I just love the idea that thoughts are meant to be shared. And that they were priceless in some way,”
Lana’s spoken word album is a spin-off of her book of poetry. Lana announced the poetry book, “Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass” in March. She also spoke about donating half of the proceeds to Native American organizations. She said that she wants to help them in any way she can, may it be in helping them preserve their rights, or help them keep their lands. Lana Del Rey explains that she wanted to connect to her family and lineage. This way she realized that she must also connect with the country’s lineage.
“wanted to pay homage to the country that I love so much by doing my own reparation, I guess I would say. My own reparative act”
Lana’s spoken word album will be freestyle poetry, coming out on January 4th, 2020.
Recently, she released a single video for her three songs in the album “Norman Fucking Rockwell”. One song takes the name of the album itself, while the other two are “Bartender” and “Happiness Is A Butterfly”. You can watch the video below.
