The popular YouTuber couple has announced their break-up. Daniel Preda and Joey Graceffa were one of the most beloved LGBTQ couples that fans got to see on the platform. Many are heartbroken seeing the two parts ways. Joey and Daniel also reveal that in reality, they had broken up 3 months after their actual breakup but were still living together.
Here’s why Joey Graceffa and Daniel Preda actually broke up
The two still had an immense amount of love and respect for one another. Joey even called Daniel his family. The reason for their breakup was not because of what is happening in the outside world.
Rather, the fact that they were in quarantine gave Joey Graceffa and Daniel Preda a chance to actually sit and realize some things. And the main thing both YouTubers realized was that they were no longer happy in their relationship.
Joey explains to his fans:
We’re doing what’s best for us and we both know that this is what needs to be done and what we both need to do. um we should be happy because I don’t think either of us has been happy for a while.
While agreeing with Joey, Daniel added in:
We don’t want you guys to think that just because of what’s happening in the world broke us up, You know this has been coming for a bit. And you know the world just slowed down and said wake up b*tch. You need to focus on yourself.
Joey then shared
We couldn’t have any distractions to really like keep us from what’s been kind of building up over the past couple years again. Finally with the time given to us we were able to look at it closer and make the decision.
They want the fans and the public to respect their process
Joey Graceffa and Daniel Preda also highlighted the fact that the two have been quite close and their families are still in contact with each other. They have also realized that they can have an amicable split and that not every breakup has to be a dramatic and negative thing. Moreover, they are going to have joint custody of their dogs. One of which will be living with Daniel, and two will be living with Joey.
Joey wanted to share with his fans that he wants everyone to respect their process because they don’t know how it is going to come about. Their relationship has ended but they are still good friends who will remain in each other’s lives. They are not sure about the specifics of it and want to figure it out as they go along:
I don’t think either of us really want to put like a definition on what the future is going to be like for each of us and like how we’ll be a part of each other’s lives because we don’t know how it’s gonna feel and what its gonna be like.
Hence, Joey Graceffa urged his fans:
Please like respect like this decision that we’ve made with each other and please don’t try and force anything online.
They thanked their fans for the support of their relationship as well:
We just want you to know how much we love each other and how much we love you guys and we’re so thankful that you guys have been so supportive and loving through the years.
