What?! Is An Umbrella Academy & Stranger Things Crossover On The Cards?

Netflix certainly seems to be on a roll right now. After bagging the largest number of Emmys, most of its recent launches have turned out to be instant hits. The Haunting of Hill House, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Narcos: Mexico, Russian Doll, The Komnisky Method, and Sex Education – all have managed to land the critical thumbs-up. This month too, Netflix managed a hit with its superhero action drama, The Umbrella Academy. The comic-book adaptation clicked almost immediately with its viewers. And within only 2 weeks of its launch, the internet has become rife with crazy fan theories. The latest Umbrella Academy theory; however, comes from not a fan, but a cast member himself. Justin H. Min, who recurs as Ben on the show, has suggested a universe merger for Umbrella Academy with Netflix’s Stranger Things. Justin G. Min Suggests Thrilling Stranger Things Umbrella Academy Crossover Theory

In a recent Instagram story, Justin H. Min shared his ‘Sunday shower thought’. He mentioned ‘ben and barb meeting in the upside down’. The tease was enough to do the trick. Soon, social media platforms found themselves flooded with fan theories about the same. A fan, for instance, talked about how the dimension Ben is in at the moment, is practically Upside Down.  In fact, it was Ben’s powers that summoned a Demogorgon that dragged Barb into upside down. Now Barb isn’t sure about trusting Ben anymore as it was him in the first place that dragged her into all the mess. The real quest for Ben now is to win over Barb and gain her trust. Sounds crazy right?

But we wonder why was such sudden emphasis given to an Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things Crossover. And that too by a star of the show himself. Who Are Barb And Ben? Will A Crossover Happen Between Stranger Things Season 3 And The Umbrella Academy Season 2?

For those who don’t know, Riverdale’s Shannon Purser played Barbara ‘Barb’ Holland on the first season of Netflix’s Stranger Things.  She played the best friend of Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer). She was concerned that her friendship with Nancy may be threatened by Nancy’s relationship with Steve (Joe Keery).

Min’s Ben on the other hand is a deceased supporting character on the Umbrella Academy. He appears alongside Robert Sheehan’s Klaus regularly as his aid. With Netflix planning to bring back The Umbrella Academy Season 2 and Stranger Things Season 3 back soon, we have high hopes for a crossover.  The Umbrella Academy Season 2, Stranger Things Season 3
