I’ve still not caught my breath. This SHOW. The writing. The performances. The way it’s shot. And what it has to say. On mental health. Death and dying. The metaphysical. The deeply emotional, and vulnerable, and scary. Fear. Love. Communication. The infinite potential of outcomes. Who we want to be. And how much we really, really need to look in the mirror and figure out what’s happening underneath what we see, how we behave, and where we run to. And finally, where we might go instead if only we had the chance or awareness to take a different path. This is a gift. Thank you @nlyonne and @_charliebarnett — sweet brother you are a revelation — and all involved in this stunning piece of work. It’s just brilliant. Wow. #RussianDoll #RussianDollNetfix

Is the Netflix Series ‘Russian Doll’ Really that Great?

The Netflix series Russian Doll which is based on a total of eight episode came out almost 10 days back. And a lot many people are already done watching the show. According to popular opinion, it’s really hard to pin-point what makes this show brilliant.

Russian Doll is the story of a young woman Nadia who is on a journey to be the guest of honor at a party in New York City. But she gets caught in a mysterious loop as she repeatedly attends the same event and dies at the end of the night each time — only to awaken the next day unharmed as if nothing had happened.

What makes this show stand out is it gained the hype by placing a woman at the story’s center. And maybe the show’s feminism is so on point because it is directed and written by all women. Leslye Headland, Amy Poehler, Natasha Lyonne serve as the show’s creators as well as writers. Other writers include Allison Silverman, Flora Birnbaum, Cirocco Dunlap and Jocelyn Bioh.  Hence, it focuses on an accurate women perspective without trying to draw attention to what’s wrong. And maybe that’s what we never experienced in a television before!

Sophia Bush is an American actress, activist, director and producer. Capable of many talents, she has landed herself in many popular roles. Her most prominent works include Chicago P.D., One Tree Hill, Incredibles 2, The Hitcher and John Tucker Must Die.
