The Real Reason Why Michelle Tanner Did Not Return To Fuller House

Michelle Tanner is the last child of Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) in the hit ’80s TV show Full House. The role was played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson (alternating). In 2015, Netflix bought rights to the show and since then, they have made the Sequel to the show, Fuller House. Fuller House follows the lives of Danny’s other two daughters, Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and Donna Jo (Candace Burr). The show casts various characters from the original show. These include Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, and Andrea Barber. However, the youngest of the Tanners did not agree to come back for the sequel!  In a recent talk with Insider, Candace Burr explains that they did not try to get the Olson twins back for the finale.

The Fuller House team did not try to get Michelle Tanner back for the wedding.

So, at the start of the show, the writers dropped a couple of hints on explanations as to why Michelle Tanner was not back with the family. Supposedly, when the makers called up everyone for the show 5 years ago, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen did not agree. The twins are running their fashion empire and were not interested. They have their fashion empire, The Row and Elizabeth & James. So, As Candace Bure puts it, over the years, they have tried hard to bring them back. But, to no avail, as she says;

No. We didn’t try. It was made very clear to us early on that they did not want to be a part of the show, so that ended.

Do we see some contempt there? As Michelle Tanner playing twins have made it ‘very clear’ to them that they do not want to be in the show. That is a bummer though. However, even without them, the writers turned the She-Wolf Pack’s triple wedding so mesmerizing. So you can stream Fuller House on Netflix today!
