Netflix will be showcasing the most awaited Nickelodeon film, Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus this summer. The movie is based on Invader Zim TV Series. It was produced by and aired on Nickelodeon. Unfortunately, Nickelodeon canceled the season 2 abruptly in 2002. The reason for the cancellation was poor ratings from their core demographic.

Nickelodeon’s Two TV Movies On Netflix

Finally, the wait is over. There was a time when both the fans and the popular TV network Nickelodeon lost hope of releasing the Invader Zim original movie. Two of Nick’s follow-up movies Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus were completed last year. However, a so-called change in management sidelined them till date.

Whatever happened in the past, the good thing is that Netflix took charge of releasing both movies. Moreover, these films will feature most of their original voice casts.

Viacom President and CEO Bob Bakish announced about the release of these movies on Viacom, Inc. Q2 2019 Earnings Conference Call.

The Plot

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus revolves around Zim, an inhabitant of the planet Irk. In Nickelodeon’s animated show, Irk struggled his best to conquer Earth and capture humans. He is accompanied in his mission by his malfunctioning robot GIR. To antagonize Zim’s unaccepted efforts, a paranormal figure Dib stands up and plots against Zim.

The movie will mostly follow from where its source TV series concluded, albeit with some changes. As the story progresses, Zim finds out that The Almighty Tallest perhaps will never land on Earth. Subsequently, Zim becomes disappointed and weak. On the other hand, Dib takes advantage of this situation and begins the encounter.

Viewers are familiar with the footage of the two transformed films back in 2017 and 2018, respectively. However, confirmed release dates of these movies have not been announced yet.
