MrBeast Wants to Plant 20 Million Trees | #TeamTrees Plan

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, is on a mission to combat climate change by planting trees. A plethora of celebrities including, Ninja, Marshmello, Alan Walker and Elon Musk (SpaceX), are supporting Donaldson’s #TeamTrees campaign. The YouTube philanthropist decided to celebrate 20 million subscriber count by raising $20 million for 20 million trees.

Why did MrBeast Start this Campaign and What is it About?

The Team Trees initiative took the top spot on YouTube’s trending videos. MrBeast and fellow Youtuber Mark Rober partner up with the Arbor Day Foundation (ADF), which promises to plant a tree for every $1, to raise $20 million.

Other Big names #TeamTrees

MrBeast and Rober are not the only ones who are worried about climate change. Notable Youtube stars like Marshmello, iJustine, Marques Brownlee, Ninja, and Simone Giertz, are also part of the cause.

The campaign, with the help of big names like Elon Musk(Tesla), Jack Dorsey (Twitter CEO) and his fans, has raised over $16 million so far. MrBeast donated $100,002, Dorsey donated $150,000, Alan Walker ($100,001) and Musk donated $1 million to the cause. He even changed his name to Treelon.

Update On the Number of Trees

According to ADF spokesperson:

The average person can’t afford $150,000 or a million, but we’ve been getting spikes of between 5 and 20 trees every time a large donation comes in and every tree matters, every single donor is important.

While praising MrBeast and talking about climate change he added:

We really want to make sure that the trees are being placed where they can do the most good for the Earth. This is just another fact of this generation seeing the importance of getting trees in the ground to help the future of the earth.

Everyone is supporting MrBeast on his #TeamTrees initiative. Looks like Donaldson will easily raise the targeted amount by the end of this year.
