The production company, Higher Ground Productions, shares that they found some inspiration from the show by Michelle Obama herself. Michelle Obama has the wonderful Let’s Move campaign where there’s an attempt to enlighten the world about the wonders of healthy eating and food. Similarly, Waffles + Mochi has the aim “to take kids on an adventure around the world, and bring culture and the joy of cooking into their lives.” Moreover, the production company will also work with Michelle to start programs with food banks and retailers to assist families in being able to have fun with food.
When Michelle Obama joined the project, Waffles + Mochi, she shared her excitement:
“I couldn’t be more excited to join in this hilarious, heartwarming and simply magical show — and I’m not just saying that because of the flying shopping cart. I only wish ‘Waffles + Mochi’ had been around when my daughters were growing up, because it’s the kind of program that’s fun to watch together as a family, and gives parents the peace of mind to know that their little ones are learning something too.”
Waffles + Mochi is streaming all ten episodes on Netflix now.
