For Millennials. By Millennials.
Film adaptions of novels are not a new thing. They’re common and happen way too often. Some film adaptions succeed while some fail. But there’s this one genre that has always been successful when it comes to film adaptions: romantic comedy. We have To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Kissing Booth and soon we’ll be getting The Hating Game too with our favorite liar from Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale.
Lucy Hale in a New Romantic Comedy
We as Hale’s fans are blessed. We keep getting more and more projects of Lucy Hale! With her new show Katy Keene coming out on the CW next year in 2020, Hale is once again booked with another film. The actress has been cast as the female lead for the upcoming adaption for Sally Thorne’s debut novel, The Hating Game. Alongside her, Robbie Amell will be playing the male lead. The movie is to be directed by the director of Then Came You Peter Hutchings.
Hale will play Lucy Hutton, a vintage-dress-obsessed, eternally sunny young woman who absolutely cannot stand her work nemesis, the cold, hyper-efficient Josh Templeton (Robbie Amell). The two engage in a battle of wills, constantly trying to one-up each other as the assistants to the two co-heads of the company where they work.
Lucy took to her Instagram to let fans know about her new movie with Robbie Amell.

While you wait for the movie to come out, go grab a copy of the novel and read it. Trust us, you won’t regret it.
Hale will next star in the Riverdale spinoff series Katy Keene, and the feature film Fantasy Island. Robbie Amell’s movie credits include The Duff, When We First Met and The Baby Sitter, and he had a recurring role on Flash TV series.
