James Charles has some news for his long time fans and followers. And it’s about the famous Sister Squad. Those of you who have been following the beauty guru and YouTuber for a long time know that before he was best friends with Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Larray, Noah Beck, and other TikTokers, he had an entirely different friend group. It consisted of James himself, Emma Chamberlain, and the Dolan twins (Ethan and Grayson Dolan).
After James Charles scandal with Tati Westbrook happened in 2018, he lost many friends including Sister Squad
During his Tati Westbrook scandal, a lot of James’ friends stopped following him on social media. His friends Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star turned their backs on him and we stopped seeing the famous Sister Squad videos.
However, it was not as simple as that. While the Tati Westbrook scandal got ultimately resolved, the situation with Sister Squad was a bit more complicated. There was no bad blood between any of them, there was no public feuding and no subtle shades thrown at each other. But the four of them just stopped collaborating together.
Emma and James are friends again with each other
Emma Chamberlain and James Charles actually ended up reuniting and reconnecting through their mutual friend Larray. The two talked things out and realized they both missed each other. Emma shared the story:
Larray came over to my house which was weird because I never hang out with anyone. He was saying that he filmed a collab with James where they prank called people. And I was like ‘why didn’t you prank call me’ and he was like ‘Emma you haven’t spoken to James in like a year’. I just didn’t even think of it like that anymore. Like it wasn’t like there was anything weird at all. It was just like we hadn’t spoken and we were just doing our own thing. And then he was like well, ‘We should call James’ and I was like ‘okay okay’. And then we called James and then James talked and then James came over we like hung out we talked and we caught up. I was like wait a minute I missed you sister and then he’s like I missed you and then we hugged each other.
They did a collaboration video together and shared that there wasn’t any particular drama between them, but both had just started on their separate journeys.
What about the Dolan twins?
Now coming to the Dolan Twins, they both are also friends with Larray but they haven’t showed any sign that they are still friends with either James Charles or Emma Chamberlain anymore.
They both did talk about the Sister Squad in one of their YouTube videos. The Dolan Twins didn’t go into much detail but they did specify that just because they don’t follow someone on social media, it doesn’t mean they’re not friends with them. Plus they shared:
We’re not in sync with anybody in the squad by any means. So, we actually haven’t talked to them in a while. I wouldn’t say that I’m not confident that everybody is comfortable speaking about that so we’re just gonna leave that to assumption.
And in Larray’s music video ‘Canceled’, Ethan and Grayson Dolan made an appearance. The music video also included James Charles and the line:

James Charles also happened to appear in the scenes right after Dolan twins appeared in the music video. However, they did not film together. But all of them involved didn’t create any drama out of it and saw this as all in good fun.
What does James Charles have to say on the Sister Squad
Well James Charles ranked his major scandals in his career as a YouTuber and influencer in his latest video. One of the incidents he mentioned was the Sister Squad.
I’m not gonna go into too much detail just out of respect for everybody else that was in the group but I mean regardless there’s no denying that the sister squad was a huge huge part of my career and was honestly as much as I hate the word – iconic. It was really really cool to film these crazy over-the-top videos with at the time my best friends in the entire world and get to put them out for all of you guys to see.
It seems like that all the former members of the Sister Squad still have respect for one another as they never have anything negative to say about each other. James Charles also added in that the squad was an important aspect of his career and he does cherish the time, sharing that he even watches the videos at time to reminisce. Furthermore, he shared:
We never ever could have imagined how big the sister squad would have gotten the fans were so supportive as well watching literally everything that we put out together and we had a lot of fun with those videos too.
Though, James Charles shared that unfortunately even Sister Squad had to come ot an end.
Basically we were all just at very very different points in our careers and our lives and we needed to go in different directions. That was the best decision for everybody involved including you guys as well.
No reunion of the Squad anytime soon?
James also shared that he did reconnect with Emma Chamberlain and loved the experience. He also hinted that there would be more collaborations between the two if that’s what the fans want. But the hope for a complete Sister Squad reunion seemed grim:
As for the sister squad as a whole. It will definitely not be coming back anytime soon but that’s probably for the better. And I’m going to leave the conversation at that.
