Departing from its roster of comedies and family sitcoms, CBS is now all set for some hardcore Summer action. In the coming months, the network will feature quite a few new action-dramas including; Blood and Treasure, and The Red Line. Will the aforementioned shows are yet to get a premiere date, CBS has already locked its military-legal drama The Code for an April release. Only a few weeks ago, CBS confirmed that it will broadcast The Code on April 9th, 2019, and new episodes will follow the premiere every Tuesday. Shortly after the release date announcement, the show’s lead star Luke Mitchell posted the show’s first teaser on Twitter. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Code teaser does not unveil much about the show, except for who is going to be in it. A simple premise elaborates that in The Code, the military’s brightest minds take on the country’s toughest challenges inside the courtroom. Each attorney on the show is a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator – and a Marine. TV has seen, previously, several military and courtroom themed concepts, albeit independently. This time; however, Craig Sweeny and Craig Turk seem to have merged the two ideas to engineer something actually never-seen-before. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
If anything were to be obtained from The Code teaser, it was the star cast of the show. Originally, the show featured Dave Annable and Mira Sorvino as its lead faces. However, when the pilot got approved, Luke Mitchell and Dana Delany stepped into their shoes respectively. Luke will essay the show’s male lead Captain John “Abe” Abraham. Delany, on the other hand, will be seen as Colonel Eisa Turnbull on the show. The ensemble also features Ato Essandoh as Maj. Trey Ferry, Raffi Barsoumian as Warrant Officer Carlton Prickett, Phillipa Soo as Lt. Harper Li, and Jeff Wincott as General Carrick. The man behind The Amazing Spider-man, Marc Webb will serve as the show’s director.
Very visibly, neighbors star Luke Mitchell is in high spirits about the show’s release. He was the first one to tweet The Code teaser. Moreover, he regularly keeps updating his twitter feed with off-screen updates of the show. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Fans remember Luke Mitchell best for his role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was fan love that pushed Mitchell’s Lincoln Campbell from a recurring role to a regular one during the show’s final season.
