For Millennials. By Millennials.
Ever since Better Call Saul began in 2015, the show has managed to make a unique identity of itself, separate from Breaking Bad. In some ways, it is considered even better than the AMC original by some hardcore fans! And it managed to do all that without the star of the original series, Walter White. But, that doesn’t mean Bryan Cranston isn’t willing to reprise the role in the prequel series. In fact, he is more than willing to do so.
Bryan Cranston is more than willing to play Walter White again
Cranston recently did some interviews for some Disney+ releases. During the interview, Cranston was asked if he’d reprise the role of Walter White or not, to which he said:
“I would be in it if Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who are co-executive producers on it, wanted me to be in it. I would do it in a second. But it hasn’t happened yet, I can tell you, and we’ll see. I don’t know. There’s one more season to go and we’ll see what happens!”
Moreover, Bryan Cranston also reveals that he was asked to join the show as a director for a few episodes. But, due to scheduling issues and prior commitments, he couldn’t do it. He said:
“I have been asked to direct an episode every single season and it just didn’t work out because of a commitment to doing a play or doing a movie or something, so I wasn’t able to section out the times available. But I do love the show. I think it’s a fantastic show.”
Vince Gilligan would love to have him on the show too
But, it’s not just Bryan Cranston who wants to be on the show this bad. Creator Vince Gilligan recently told Collider that he wants Cranston to be on Better Call Saul. If not as Walter White, then at least as a director. He said:
“I’d love to have Bryan direct an episode. I got to write an episode [of Breaking Bad] that Bryan directed and I was on set with him every day, and it was a wonderful experience. He’s a magnificent director. He’s one of the few directors who has a facility for the lightest comedy and the darkest drama.”
We’re not sure when we’ll get to see Bryan Cranston as Walter White on Better Call Saul. But, we can see him as a judge on his upcoming series, Your Honor.
