The story shows Nick Fury’s S.H.I.E.L.D gathering a group of superheroes when Loki poses a threat by stealing the Tesseract. Loki’s ultimate goal is to conquer Earth. However, when the superhero team i.e. the Avengers led by Captain America all work together in an attempt to stop Loki.
This movie does not only conclude Phase One of the MCU, it is also the first time all the characters have teamed up, a concept that was being built up for quite some time. Not to mention, the significance of Captain America’s character in the film, as he becomes the titular leader of the group. The movie features an extremely talented cast including but not limited to Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. Captain America: The Winter Soldier serves as a direct sequel to the first movie and it is also Joe and Anthony Russo’s debut in the MCU. The film was released in 2014. The film stars Chris Evans alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders. Steve Rogers accompanies Natasha Romanoff (i.e. Black Widow) and Sam Wilson (i.e. Falcon) during their quest to learn the truth about a lethal, enigmatic assassin as he adjusts to the difficulties of the modern world.

In 2015, just a year after Captain America: Winter Soldier was released, came the second installment to the Avenger franchise. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon. It witnesses the original Avengers actors come back and also features Elizabeth Olsen, Idris Elba, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Bettany, and Hayley Atwell. Avengers: Age of Ultron tells the story of how Tony Stark along with the help of Bruce Banner created the Ultron artificial intelligence system.
However, things take a turn when Ultron sets out to exterminate humanity. In order to prevent this, the Avengers team up in an attempt to defeat it. This film not only gives us the first look at the infinity stones, but it also sets the scene for the third Captain America film. Similar to all the Captain America movies in this list, this film can also be found on Disney+.
The third and most recent addition to the Captain America franchise came in 2016 from directors Anthony and Joe Russo with a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Captain America: Civil War observes a clash between The Avengers when one faction backs the government’s policy to enforce legislation to regulate their superpowers while the other condemns it. This film on the forefront may seem like any other Marvel film, maybe even a movie that one who is not too familiar with the MCU might miss.
However, this film is actually one of the most important Marvel movies. This 2016 film ties together a lot of things, from future Marvel movies and Disney+ specials. It also introduces us to the two most popular Marvel characters, Spider-Man and Black Panther. This film is also available on Disney+.
Anthony and Joe Russo directed their first Avenger film which was released in 2018 called Avengers: Infinity War. The film features Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, and Chadwick Boseman alongside the original cast. The story follows The Avengers having to prevent the interplanetary warlord Thanos from obtaining all of the infinity stones. But Thanos is willing to do whatever it takes to execute his crazy scheme.
Nia DaCosta, the director of the upcoming ‘The Marvels’ movie, was of the opinion that Thanos’ infamous snap in the film is all Captain America’s fault as he attempted to save Vision’s life. This film in the list of all Captain America movies in order can also be found on Disney+.
The final film in the Avengers franchise came just a year after the last one in 2019. The film follows the aftermath of the events of Avengers: Infinity War where all of them attempt to reverse the effect of Thanos’ snap. It demonstrates how different team members are coping with the tragedy and loss that occurred in the previous film. Tony Stark gets married and starts a family while Rogers is still in mourning. Actually, Ant-Man is the one who comes up with the plan for a time heist after returning from the quantum world.
The remaining Avengers separate out to find the Infinity Stones at various points in time when Stark finally agrees to build the requisite time machine. This leads to one last epic battle between the Avengers and Thanos, a treat for the fans. However, this epic battle does end in tragedy.
