For Millennials. By Millennials.
The Oscar-winning, national treasure of an actor, devoted family man, superb person, and now a great meme material. Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you: Tom Hanks. Last night at Golden Globes 2020, not only did he win HFPA’s Cecil B. DeMille Award for Achievement in Film but also the best candid meme of the event.
Tom Hanks Was Adorable At The Globes 2020
The meme moment came during the opening monologue from the awards’ host Ricky Gervais. While sitting next to his wife and family, there were two moments when the camera caught Hanks in the greatest candid reactions.
In the tweet above, the reference to Felicity Huffman is from her college admission cheating scandal. Due to this, she was sentenced to 14 days in prison. Moving on, Tom Hanks’ fun mood at the event was surely noticeable when Gervais continued his opening. When the host said: “Come up and accept your little award, thank your agent and your god, and f**k off,” the cameraperson knew exactly where to turn their lens towards.
I would like to thank Tom Hanks for providing this brand-new meme for 2020 #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/2frzvP2baQ

Time rightly describes Tom Hanks: “…Hanks is the gift that keeps on giving, both onscreen and online…”
At this point, one can even take the woman sitting behind Hanks with an equally “YIKES” expression.
I mean, I could not disagree with this one:

But He Is Also A Great Person As A Whole
Let’s not take away one of his finest moments of Golden Globes 2020. The Forest Gump and Captain Phillips star was also awarded Cecil B. DeMille Award for his Achievement in Film. The guy has done wonders for the movies he has worked in. It is only best if he is honored in such a manner. Here is one of the finest speeches of the event:
“A man is blessed with a family sitting down front like that a wife who is fantastic in every way, who has taught me what love is.”
Tom Hanks now joins the list of Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Audrey Hepburn, and George Clooney who have received the same awards.
