‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Trailer Is Out! Will We See Luke Skywalker?

Published by

We finally have the new trailer for season 2 of The Mandalorian! Ever since season 1 ended, fans were dying to hear about season 2. Now, Disney+ has finally delivered a much-anticipated trailer, finally showing us a glimpse of the future of Mando and Baby Yoda. But, Star Wars fans are always dying to search for an easter egg, especially from the original trilogy. And considering the timeline of The Mandalorian, fans want to see one particular character make an appearance – Luke Skywalker!

But, executing such crossovers are never easy. So, let us take a look at whether Luke could make a cameo in The Mandalorian season 2 or not.

Now, the new trailer released by Disney+ has no indication of Luke making an appearance. This is just our speculation whether it can happen or not. So, here are the points that can make a case for Luke’s appearance in season 2:

1. Mando and Baby Yoda are going on a hunt for Jedis

The trailer follows the advice Mando got from the Armorer to find the Jedi, to whom Baby Yoda belongs. And then, you see a mysterious figure disappear in the dark, a lot like who Jedis used to do.

So, this confirms that we’ll see Mando in The Mandalorian season 2 trying to find the Jedi. Chances are he might encounter Ahsoka Tano (from The Clone Wars). And if things go right for Mando and he meets more and more Jedi, he might come head to head with Luke Skywalker! After all, he is the most legitimate Jedi of the time.

2. The X-Wings!

Another hint from the trailer is the X-wings. Everyone knows how Luke Skywalker loved flying, and he flew an x-wing at least until the time he went into the self-imposed exile, which was in 28 ABY on the Star Wars timeline. And The Mandalorian season 2 takes place in 9 ABY. So, it’s almost certain that Luke is still flying that hunk of junk.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Luke is actually flying one of the x-wings from the trailer. But, it must be no secret for the galaxy to know that there’s a young baby Yoda with whom the force is strong. It could be that Luke is looking for a Jedi to not be the “last Jedi” anymore. But, that leads us to the question:

3. Where was Luke Skywalker after Return of the Jedi?

The Mandalorian season 2 takes place 5 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, which is 9 ABY in Star Wars years. So, what was he doing at the time? It’s possible that there’s a Jedi fact-finding mission going on like Lando talked about in The Rise of Skywalker. But, as we covered before, he also began his training with Leia. So, if the showrunners want, they can cross the paths of Luke Skywalker, Mando, and Baby Yoda. It’ll be nice to see Mark Hamill (probably with a CGI face) and Pedro Pascal on screen. But, we’ll have to wait for 30th of October when The Mandalorian season 2 hits Disney+!
