Lionsgate dropped the first teaser for the Jeremy Thomas Camp biopic starring Riverdale star KJ Apa today. The faith-based musical-biopic I Still Believe will document the musical accomplishments of the contemporary-Christian singer along with his spiritual journey. The film which premieres March 20th, 2020, includes Gary Sinise and country music star Shania Twain alongside KJ. While Sinise will play Jeremy’s father Tom, Shania will play his mother, Terry Camp.

The 30-second teaser quickly sets up KJ Apa as the face of the film. The video guides us through KJ Apa’s appearance on the stage, as he gets ready to capture the senses of his live audience. Although faith predominantly drives the film’s narrative, its teaser tells a different story. The biopic’s teaser introduces Jeremy as the ‘singer’ who has 32 #1 radio hits and has sold 4.5 million albums worldwide. Thus imbuing a sense, that it will focus on ‘faith’ mostly through Jeremy’s music. The teaser has also serviced KJ Apa fans with a significant Easter egg. From title narration, it can be clearly distinguished that it was indeed sung by KJ Apa. Which leaves room for the actor-singer to not only act but also sing in his new film .
Guided by the Erwin brothers- Jon and Andrew Erwin- “I Still Believe” will follow the life of Camp through his journey of love and loss. The Contemporary Christian singer, who has 4 RIAA Gold albums to his credit has scored several hits on Christian radio across all formats. Jeremy lost his first wife, Melissa Lynn to cancer back in 2000. It was around the same time that he had started his musical career. So his first numbers reflected his emotional turmoil and the ordeal of his wife’s illness. “I Still Believe”– the song which inspires the biopic’s title- was actually the first song Jeremy wrote post the demise of his wife. Lionsgate had announced the castings for the biopic at CinemaCon in April. I Still Believe brings most of its stars from popular TV shows, some even from other CW series. Aside from Shania Twain, KJ Apa, and Gary Sinise; Britt Robertson (Girlboss), Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest), Nathan Dean Parsons (Roswell, New Mexico) will also be a part of the biographical film. While Britt Robertson has been confirmed to play Jeremy’s late wife, Melissa; Roxburgh’s role is under the wraps. But speculations are rife that she will headline the biopic as Jeremy’s present wife, Adrienne Camp. KJ Apa Riverdale Season 4 Shania Twain I Still Believe
