For Millennials. By Millennials.
Skeet Ulrich recently left CW’s Riverdale. He played the role of Jughead Jones’ father, FP Jones. Though, he wasn’t the only cast member to leave the teen show based on Archie Comics. Marisol Nichols, who played Hermoine Lodge also left the show at the same time. They both decided that it was their time to leave and that they would be grateful for being a part of Riverdale.
Marisol Nichols and Skeet Ulrich released this statement
Both prominent actors of the show played the parents of the characters of Cole Sprouse and Camila Mendes. When they left the show, they departed on good terms and released this statement:
“I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis. I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.”
It all seemed like there was no bad blood between Skeet Ulrich, Marisol Nichols, and the showrunners of Riverdale. The show creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, shared this regarding their departure:
“Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people. I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavors. F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.”
Though, now Skeet Ulrich shares that he was creatively bored from Riverdale
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Skeet Ulrich changes his statements and reveals the real reason for leaving Riverdale. He shares that he just got creatively bored from the show. And he did it while hanging out in a pool with his young girlfriend Megan Blake Irwin:
okay, my heart just broke and i’m gonna go cry now https://t.co/njlAKOtRHI

The actor said that this was probably the most honest answer he could give. Many fans were shocked and a bit hurt at hearing this because they were attached to FP Jones and Skeet Ulrich.
Though some are not too surprised at hearing this because Riverdale is not as popular anymore. Plus, there’s a lot of criticism of the show not making any sense and having pointless and ridiculous plots.
On the other side, some fans just assumed Skeet was having a midlife crisis:
I certainly don’t want to spread rumors, but between this answer and dating a girl half his age, I suspect Skeet has entered some sort of mid-life crisis. Very sad if true. Again, I don’t know, but I’ll be praying for him.
