Shay Mitchell Reveals Why She Doesn’t Want to be Engaged to Matte Babel Right Now

Although they have a baby together, Shay Mitchell and Matte Babel are in no rush to get married. The Pretty Little Liars star reveals the reason behind it.

Despite being in a serious relationship with Matte Babel for years, Pretty Little Liars star kept it secret.

While she is a well-known actress in Hollywood, Matte Babel is also into the entertainment business. Although Shay Mitchell never mentioned her boyfriend on Instagram, some fans noticed their picture on Snapchat back in 2017. Meanwhile, Babel posted a birthday wish for Mitchell. Despite this, she kept quiet about their relationship. In 2018, Mitchell revealed that she suffered from a miscarriage without mentioning the father. However, the very next year, her pregnancy was announced after six months had already passed. In a YouTube video, Shay Mitchell and Matte Babel revealed the gender of their child. At the end of last year, the couple welcomed their daughter, Atlas Noa.

Recently, Shay Mitchell revealed why she was in no rush to marry Babel.

Their daughter is almost seven months old. However, the couple is in no rush of marrying or even getting engaged. When asked the reason behind it, Shay Mitchell said:

“A lot of people ask, it’s never been something I really cared for. And I love weddings, love weddings. I can watch them all day long. I love attending, I love being a part of my friends’ [weddings], anybody’s to be quite honest. It’s just not something I care for for myself and it’s something that Matte and I have spoken about.”

She has made it clear to Matte Babel that she does not want a proposal. While talking about it, she said:

“He’s been like, ‘You sure?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we work so well right now.’ It’s great and this dynamic just works for us. It may not always be the correct way but it works. That’s how I sort of have to go, you know, that’s how I do it.”

It seems that the couple is too busy enjoying with their daughter to think about a wedding.
