There Was A Seinfeld Reunion That No One Knows About!

Published by

It’s been a long time since Seinfeld ended, but we still can’t get enough of the show. But, what if I told you that there was a mini Seinfeld reunion that no one knows about? That’s right, Jerry Seinfeld and the old gang got back together in one of the episodes of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. And fans loved it!

Larry David makes a Seinfeld Reunion possible

As we all know, Larry David was one of the creators of the show. And he’s been rocking it on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. So, good old Larry decided to have a mini Seinfeld reunion in the finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm’s 7th season back in 2008. But, it wasn’t like any ordinary Seinfeld episode.

Basically, Larry didn’t just produce a simple Seinfeld episode. He also showed us some of the makings behind it. Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards all got together to show us the making and preparation of the show too.

Premise

The backstory of the episode they shot in the finale was great too! In this Seinfeld reunion, George made a fortune from an iPhone app called iToilet, that would find the nearest toilet for you. But, he lost most of his fortune in the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. Moreover, he recently divorced his wife who took half of his money too. However, they decide to get back together but with one condition. That is that George has to sign a prenup so that Amanda (his ex-wife) knows he’s not only doing it for the money. Other than this Seinfeld reunion, it’s a regular Curb Your Enthusiasm episode. But, it got a lot more ratings than the Seinfeld finale itself. Even Jerry Seinfeld acknowledged it in the reunion:

We already screwed up one finale, we can’t do another.

As we all know, Seinfeld’s finale got a lot of stick from fans and critics alike. Therefore, this Seinfeld reunion was needed. And it got some decent reviews too! Amelie Gilette of the AV Club said in her review that:

David made the Curb universe and the Seinfeld universe merge and then fold in on itself—and it was nothing short of incredible to watch.

Hence, you should run on to HBO and give this Seinfeld reunion a watch. But, we do hope that we get another proper reunion of our favorite sitcom gang. It’s been 10 years since this one released, after all.
