The California rock band, Rival Sons received nominations for two awards at the 2020 Grammy Awards. The nominations for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards were revealed early Wednesday morning November 20, 2019, with a handful of the major categories announced during a live stream, while the other categories were revealed moments later via the Grammy website. With several musicians getting their respective recognitions for their exceptional work, Rival Sons were also one of them. The band’s sixth studio album, Feral Roots, landed them for two award nominations at the 2020 Grammy Awards, one for “Best Rock Album” and other for “Best Rock Performance” for their song “Too Bad”.
The solid heavy rock tone for the album received positive reviews by the critics and mainstream rock lovers as well. The band has developed its own signature sound and style. They are keen on not following mainstream trends or outside influences to affect their originality. The command on their music is absolutely something to enjoy for the listeners. The band members, Jay Buchanan, Scott Holiday, Michael Miley and Dave Beste, have shown their versatility in their craft and with an impressive execution to each of the songs.
Michael Pementel of Consequence of Sound gave the album a grade of B+ and said:
“Feral Roots is an excellent place to start”.
“Feral Roots” is arguably the strongest and most cohesive album to date delivered by the band. Their introductory song “Do Your Worst” showcased powerful great music composition and songwriting.
The band couldn’t hold back their excitement on its incredible recognition and took to Twitter to thank its loyal fans. The band wrote:
“Just arrived in Denmark and heard the news! 2 #GRAMMYs2020 nominations! So pumped!! Thank you!!”
Surely the 2020 Grammys will be a big night for the band. We wish them all good luck for their future success.
