Netflix latest rom-com starring Randall Park and Ali Wong has set an enormously resonant wave of critical acclaim across Netflix’s audiences and film critics. The film, which gets Nahnatchka Khan to helm a screenplay by both of its lead stars, premiered in select cinemas on 29th May 2019. It’s Netflix debut took place two days later, on May 31st. Always Be My Maybe explores the romantic fling of two estranged childhood friends against a career tryst. It develops its narrative by biting on classic rom-com elements and eventually layering them up into a unique social commentary with its own exclusively sweet elements. The film was an instant hit on Netflix, with celebrities and fans pouring in praises for the movie alike. Reese Witherspoon currently appears in HBO’s twisty drama Big Little Lies Season 2 alongside Meryl Streep. She has taken to Twitter to applaud the Netflix rom-com. Witherspoon found Always Be My Maybe to be a ‘smart, romantic, and charming’ movie. Additionally, Witherspoon also praised Ali Wong and Randall Park’s awesomesauce performances to the skies. Before she could wrap up her review of the movie, Witherspoon also expressed admiration for the adorably suave Keanu Reeves, who had an important cameo in the film.
