2020 has come with enough losses as it is. And while we are still recovering from deaths, Fred Willard, the great American Legend joins the numbers. He bid farewell to our world this week at the age of 86. While we fondly remember his roles in shows like ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ and ‘Real People’, most of the current generation know him for his role in Modern Family as the father of Phil Dunphy, Frank Dunphy. When KABC confirmed the news, it was as if Hollywood lost one of its brightest stars. After hearing the news, Modern Family cast pays tribute to Fred Willard.

Rest In Peace sweet @Fred_Willard. You will always be a true original and I am so honored that our lives intersected. No one will ever come close to replacing your genius.

Rico Rodriguez, who plays Manny Delgado on Modern Family, wrote for Fred Willard;

RIP to one of our family members. It was always a pleasure having you on set. Thank you for the laughs! You will be missed, Mr. Willard.” Nolan Gould, who played Willard’s on-screen grandson Luke, called Willard “a joy to work with” and said he “forever changed comedy.

Eric Stonestreet also expressed how grateful he was that the legend knew him.

Other stars from the show have yet to pay their respects but we believe at this time, they may be grieving in silence. These tough times keep springing one after another thing on us. Other celebrities, not from Modern Family, like Jamie Lee Curtis also left a farewell message for Fred Willard.
