After serving in the United States Army for a few years, Willard moved to New York in the late 50s to pursue his acting career. Initially, he formed a comedy partnership with Vic Grecco and performed as Willard & Grecco. They appeared on shows like The Dean Martin Show, The Tonight Show and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. After working in multiple TV shows like Roseanne and Sister, Sister, Fred Willard appeared in many Christopher Guest films including This is Spinal Tap. In recent times, he played Phil Dunphy’s father, Frank, on Modern Family. However, after a successful and incredibly diverse career, the news came out a few days ago that Fred Willard dies in his 80s.

A couple of days ago, the news came out that Fred Willard dies. His daughter, Hope, made an announcement on Twitter. She wrote:

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news my father passed away very peacefully last night at the fantastic age of 86 years old. He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end. We loved him so very much!
