For Millennials. By Millennials.
It is no secret that many fans have often mistaken the Pretty Little Liars star, Lucy Hale, for the pop singer, who sang Rare, Selena Gomez. So, over the years since they both joined the industry, it comes as no surprise that they both have received quite some attention for their resemblance. Selena and Lucy have both got a lot in common. So there is that too. Lucy Hale, most recently, on Katy Keene, has been promoting the show all over. She answers the WIRED Autocomplete Interview Questions and not to our surprise, her relation to Selena Gomez is one of the Web’s most asked questions about Lucy Hale.
Lucy Hale Jokes that she is ‘twins’ with Selena Gomez!
The two women are literally the same age and have the same hair (uncolored). The two even joined showbiz around the same time. Where Lucy joined American Juniors, Selena Gomez was one of the kids on Barney and Friends and later, Wizards of Waverly Place.
Fun Fact: Did you know? Lucy Hale appeared on Wizards of Waverly Place too? Yep! At the time she was dating the adorable David Henrie! (Also something she talks about in her interview!)
So the question was; Is Lucy Hale related to Selena Gomez?
And the answer is,
I am. We’re actually twins and we don’t like to talk about it a lot in public. When I was younger I used to get that I looked like her all the time.
Furthering on this, we’d just like to add this tweet we found, posted by the Pretty Little Liars star.
Woman at airport -"Selena, can I take a picture of you?"
I think I crushed her & her daughters dreams after I revealed the truth …— Lucy Hale (@lucyhale) April 20, 2014
To be fair, I do not think that we’d ever be disappointed at finding out if we were actually talking to Lucy Hale!
So, Lucy also goes on talking about working on the show alongside her ex-boyfriend, David Henrie.
I have met Selena because I did [the Disney sitcom] Wizards of Waverly Place when I was like 17 or 18. My long-term boyfriend at the time [actor David Henrie] played her brother on Wizards of Waverly Place. So I would see her all the time.
So, there’s that! The two are totally not related by any means. There have also been no instances for us to believe they are friends. Have you ever mistaken the two in a show or movie? Let us know in the comments below!
