Indian-Canadian YouTube star Lilly Singh aka. Superwoman is certainly on a roll these days. The comedian recently scored her own late-night TV show on NBC, which would also be the first show of its kind to feature an LGBTQ brown woman as its host. Soon afterward, the actress also received a thumbs-up from the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, himself, who expressed that Lilly Singh had made Canada proud.
Even after all these major pinnacles, the star is not ready to take a break. Lilly Singh; in fact, continues her streak of success with hilarious collaborations with Indian celebrities Diljit Dosanjh and Neha Kakkar.
Lilly Singh, who recently visited India for the YouTube fan festival, was more than happy to meet a fellow Punjabi. Elated, the Superwoman did not miss her chance to shine some light on her culture. The duo teamed up for a quirky video about how Punjabis greet each other. The video that the YouTuber shared on Instagram generated laughter. Lilly’s fans, especially her Indian fans, were also left quite moved by the ‘meet and greet’.
As Lilly Singh posted the video on her Instagram feed, she wrote,
“When you meet someone from the motherland ?? this is DEF how Punjabis greet each other, complete with a 5 minute long hand holding session and family tree check in. To be honest, @diljitdosanjh and I aren’t even acting… someone was just rolling when we met up. ???”
In response to the collaboration, many celebrities such as Jay Shetty, Winne Harlow and Eitan Bernath expressed their love. Fans also appreciate the accurate representation the video gave to Punjabis. Even famous Indian stand-up comedian Maniesh Paul wrote ‘so true’ as he give the video a warm thumbs up.
Bollywood star Diljit Dosanjh is often in the news these days, many thanks to his upcoming ambitious projects. The actor will soon star in ace Bollywood director, Karan Johar’s, upcoming film Good News, which also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Apart from that, Diljit also has Arjun Patiala coming up where he stars opposite Kriti Sanon.
Superwoman, on the other hand, has made most of her trip to India by collaborating with Bollywood stars. She had teamed up with actors including Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. The YouTuber’s most recent collab was with Indian vocalist Neha Kakkar. In the particular comic collab, Lilly tries a hand at music. While she aces most of the part, she slips miserably during a lyric, causing Neha Kakkar to erupt into laughter.
