Leighton Meester Faces Body Shaming Amidst Pregnancy

Internet trolls are the worst! People think just because they’re hidden behind a screen, they can say anything they want. That is why social media has increased the amount of bullying. People have no regard for the consequences of their words. And the most recent target of cyber bullying has been Leighton Meester.

As any Instagram user would know, there is a stream of comments when anyone goes live, especially a celebrity. Usually people are pouring in to spread love, ask a question, send hearts. But more often than not, there is always that one person who comes just to spread hate and negativity.

The same thing happened with Leighton Meester when she went live with her friend, Kimrie Lewis-Davis. A hater targeted her appearance and went on to comment that she had gotten fat.  “Somebody just told me I got fat—that’s nice,” she said to her Single Parents co-star, Kimrie. Who responded with, “That’s not nice, you guys.”

Leighton also read the person’s name out loud to single him out from the crowd and said hi. Good thing she isn’t the one to let any internet troll ruin her happiness and mental peace. Leighton and Kimrie then continued on with their conversation, laughing as if nothing had happened. You go, girls! Show those trolls they’re wasting their time.

And in case you didn’t know, Leighton Meester is pregnant and expecting baby no. 2 with husband, Adam Brody. And for someone to remark on her weight is just downright disrespectful while she’s going through such a beautiful thing. The pair hasn’t confirmed the news yet but photos of them strolling around with Leighton’s visible bump have been proof enough.
