The popularity of the first season of Legacies gained parallel acclamation with its precursors Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Though the series could not get a higher rating like the previous series, but it still succeeded in getting a renewal. Due to a good success and viewership, Legacies is renewing for its next season. Fans, however, are highly excited to know whether Caroline will join the show or not.

Candice King, who has played the role of Caroline in the Vampire Dairies might join the show in the second season.

Surprisingly, the actress has not performed her character in any season 1 episode of Legacies. Hence, critics and fans are continuously inquiring about this undefined absence. Caroline, in fact, played a centric and family-diverted role in  The Vampire Diaries. She is the one who can leave everything else for the sake of her twin daughters.

As the speculations grow, the creator of the show, Julie Plec, revealed that Candice King aka Caroline is on a hunt to outcast the perils that can threaten one of her daughter’s life. The series will soon showcase the cursed yet alarming ritual, ‘The Merge’.

Julie, in fact, clears all the misunderstanding in her recent statement 

“We don’t want Caroline to be an irresponsible mother. She’s a great mother, and she’s always been a great mother to these girls, so if she’s not going to be there for this huge event in their lives, it damn well better be for a good reason. That was one of the reasons we wanted to introduce this secret that she and Ric are keeping from the girls”.

Moreover, if Candice King is reprising her Caroline role, she has to meet her daughters Lizzie and Josie until they reach the age of 22. Otherwise, nobody can prevent them from the ill fate of the Gemini Coven Merge for twins.

It is, however, not confirmed that whether Candice King will reprise her role as Caroline Forbes or not. It all depends upon her own decision.
