Published by

Thanks to Paramount+’s eagerly anticipated reboot, iCarly is back on television with two seasons already released. The core cast of the original series, which aired from 2007 to 2012, parted ways after the show’s conclusion. For the iCarly reboot, which was released after almost ten years, Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, and Jerry Trainor have all come together. However, Jennette McCurdy did not make an appearance.

Does all this reboot talk have the fans wondering where’s the iCarly cast? what did the cast go on to do after the show ended and how the iCarly cast is in 2023? Hence we are here to give you all the details of the main cast of iCarly.

Carly Shay played by Miranda Cosgrove

If you are wondering “where’s the iCarly cast in 2023?” Then the first person to pop into your mind should be Miranda Cosgrove. The 29-year-old Miranda Cosgrove made her acting debut as Summer Hathaway in Jack Black’s School of Rock. She later went on to portray Megan Parker throughout the Drake & Josh television series on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007. As Carly Shay, a teen host of her very own web program, Cosgrove portrays the main lead in Nickelodeon’s iCarly.

She later performed Margo’s voice in the films Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, and Despicable Me 3. Additionally, she appeared in the Austin Butler-starring film The Intruders as well as the NBC TV series Crowded. The stunning brunette also took some time off and managed to attain a degree from the University of Southern California.

Sam Puckett played by Jennette McCurdy

The second most important person in this “where’s the iCarly cast in 2023″ experience would be Sam Puckett. Throughout the show’s six seasons, Jennette McCurdy played Sam Puckett, Carly’s best friend, and co-host. After iCarly, Jennette most definitely did not slow down. She continued to play Sam in the offshoot series Sam & Cat co-star Ariana Grande which ran from 2013 to 2014. She then appeared in the films Little B***hes, Pet, and Bling after that. Additionally, she appeared in numerous TV shows, such as Adam and Wiley’s Lost Weekend and Netflix’s Between. Furthermore, she starred in, wrote, and produced a web series called What’s Next For Sarah. In 2017, McCurdy officially bid adieu to acting. Moreover, in 2018, with the short film Kenny, McCurdy marked her directorial debut.

She started hosting “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” a tragicomic one-woman performance, in Los Angeles in 2020. She discusses her terrible experiences with previous jobs, especially when she portrayed Sam on “iCarly,” in her podcast “Empty Inside,” which she hosts. McCurdy claimed that Cosgrove requested her to join the “iCarly” reboot on Paramount+. However, McCurdy declined as she wanted to put her mental health first and not enter that world again. Jennette McCurdy published her best-selling memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died” in August 2022, in which she went into more depth about her challenging upbringing and time spent on Nickelodeon.

Her memoir has received a lot of attention from people on social media. Twitter has been flooded with opinions of people, and everyone sympathizes with McCurdy and supports her for everything she has been through. McCurdy is currently the most talked about iCarly cast member in 2023.

Freddie Benson played by Nathan Kress

Since he was four years old, Nathan Kress has been acting. He lent his voice to a character in “Shuriken School”, an animated tv series and he performed a sketch on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.  Additionally, Kress appeared in a few cameo appearances on television shows like “Without a Trace” on CBS and “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” on Disney Channel. Nathan Kress and Miranda Cosgrove appeared in an episode of the show “Drake & Josh” in February 2006, garnering the interest of the show’s creator and executive producer, Dan Schneider. Kress played the primary character of Freddie Benson in the television series iCarly that Schneider later created. In a “Sam and Cat” episode that aired after “iCarly” finished, Kress played Freddie Benson once again, reprising his role.

Alongside this, he continued his acting career in the movies, making several appearances, including in “Into the Storm,” which turned out to be a catastrophic movie. He has provided his voice for several “Star Wars” projects as well. Kress wed London Elise Moore, his fellow cast member from Into the Storm, in November 2015. The duo announced the birth of their firstborn daughter in December 2017. Additionally, Moore delivered their second daughter in March 2021. Nathan Kress most recently appeared in “Alive in Denver” for Fullscreen and “Pinky Malinky” for Netflix.

Kress also hosts a podcast called “Radioactive Dads,” which offers chats between buddies about parenting and life, alongside actor Brett Davern. From the update on where is the iCarly cast in 2023, Kress is currently reprising his role of Freddie Benson in the iCarly reboot series and that is where you will find him now.

Spencer Shay played by Jerry Trainor

Actor Jerry Trainor gained popularity playing Crazy Steve on Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh” before taking on the role of Spencer Shay, Carly’s older brother. Additionally, he has previously made appearances on a number of popular TV shows from the early 2000s. Jerry Trainor received multiple Kid’s Choice Awards for his work on iCarly, and he later played the same character in Sam & Kat as well. He also starred alongside Jennette McCurdy in the 2011 Nickelodeon TV movie “Best Player”.

Following the completion of “iCarly”, Trainor remained to work for Nickelodeon as the star of “Wendell and Vinnie” as well as a voice actor for “T.U.F.F. Puppy.” Trainor most recently had an appearance on “No Good Nick” on Netflix and “Bunk’d” on Disney Channel. Additionally, Jerry Trainor also appeared in episodes of Law & Order: True Crime and 2 Broke Girls. Beyond his acting, along with drummer Andrew Zuber, guitarist Allison Scagliotti, and guitarist/vocalist Mike O’Gorman, Trainor founded the band Nice Enough People. This actor in the iCarly cast in 2023 has also reprised his role of Spencer Shay in Paramount+’s iCarly reboot series.

Gibby played by Noah Munck

Ending your quest of “where’s the iCarly cast in 2023″ with the iconic “Gibby”. Noah Munck’s only prior acting experience before iCarly was appearing as a guest star on a few TV programs, such as “Wizards of Wavery Place” on the Disney Channel. In 2012, Nickelodeon approved a spin-off program starring Munck as Gibby, according to Entertainment Weekly. IMDb reports that although the pilot episode of the series was filmed, it was never made available to the general audience. Munck did, however, return his Gibby character in a “Sam and Cat” episode similar to Kress and Trainor. Munck debuted as Rob Smith in the popular ABC comedy “The Goldbergs” in 2014.

Since leaving iCarly, he has also appeared in the films “Nicky Deuce” and “Swindle”, as well as the sitcom “Arrested Development”. Most recently, he appeared with AJ Michalka and Tim Meadows as Dr. Barry in an episode of Schooled. Under the identities NoxiK and SADWORLDBEATS, Munck has created electronic music in addition to acting. Munck launched a brand-new YouTube channel named “Sadworld” in October 2016 where he shares music and comedic sketches. Sadly, Munck did not reprise his role as Gibby in the iCarly reboot series.
