Demi Lovato Singing National Anthem at Super Bowl 2020

Published by

Recently, NFL announced Demi Lovato as the preferred choice to sing the National Anthem for the 2020 Super Bowl. The ceremony will be happening at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, February 2.

In just a few days the much-awaited game event of the year, Super Bowl, will begin. Since its inception, Super Bowl has continued its tradition with changing renditions of the National Anthem performed by the most phenomenal musical artists and groups. This time, they’ve chosen Demi Lovato

The pop singer shares the joyous news

Lovato took to Instagram to share the news herself. She wrote:

“Singing the National Anthem at #SBLIV, See you in Miami @NFL”

The announcement made its way soon after it was revealed that she’d be performing in 2020 Grammy Awards.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira Joins The League

It was announced last fall that “Hustlers” star Jennifer Lopez and Grammy winner Shakira will headline the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.  The two singers showed their excitement and were proud to represent the Latino community together as one. It is also reported that the performances could lead to a massive boost in sales of their music.

Demi Lovato Is One Perfect Choice

Demi Lovato will perform after her 2-year hiatus. The pop star went hospitalized due to drug overdose just after finishing her “Tell Me You Love Me World Tour”. Now, she’s sober and ready to take the stage!

With six studio albums and more than 30 singles, the pop singer has definitely excelled throughout her career. In 2017, Time Magazine named the singer as one of the “most influential people in the world”. Apart from her music career, she is also one daring activist for multiple social causes.

Past Performers at Super Bowl

The 27-year old pop star will join the prestigious line up of Super Bowl National Anthem performers this year. The 2019 Super Bowl featured Gladys Knight singing the National Anthem, while Pink performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” in 2018.

Past national anthem performers also include Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Luke Bryan, and the late Whitney Houston, among others.
