For Millennials. By Millennials.
Bella Poarch, a TikTok star, has successfully entered the music industry after achieving internet stardom. She’s already witnessing great results just a few days after releasing her debut song. Like many TikTokers, she is in transitioning phase of becoming a music artist from a full-time social media influencer.
Bella Poarch has joined the ranks of Dixie D’Amelio, Chase Hudson, and Addison Rae as a singer/songwriter in addition to being a TikToker.
Bella Poarch made her music debut on May 15th
Bella Poarch debuted her first single (and a high-budget music video) to the world on May 15. Which is aptly titled “Build a B*tch,”.
The song’s music video features high-tech special effects and many top-tier YouTubers and streamers including Valkyrae, ZHC, Bretman Rock, and Mia Khalifa. ‘Build a B*tch’ is a statement of how women are subject to incessant criticism regarding their bodies. And the young singer has tried her best to spreads body positivity through her debut song. Which is much needed in our society. Here are some of the lyrics from the song:
“This ain’t Build-a-B*tch, You don’t get to pick and choose
Different a*s and bigger bo*bs, If my eyes are brown or blue
This ain’t Build-a-B*tch, I’m filled with flaws and attitude
So if you need perfect, I am not built for you”
The last line literally hit me to the core.
Poarch is already earning a great spot at the Billboard 100
Bella Poarch‘s “Build a B*tch” charted at 58th on the Billboard Hot 100 on May 24, much to the delight of fans. Poarch has made a huge achievement with her debut song. And it is highly appreciated by the fans.
Poarch’s “Build a b*tch” topped Olivia Rodrigo’s “good 4 u” for the most-watched music video on YouTube in 24 hours, with over 10 million views. That’s not all. Poarch’s song also charted at #1 in the Philippines, earning praise from Valkyrae, who is of Filipino origin. And so far the video has earned 112 million views on YouTube.
What is the secret behind the young singer’s success? It might be the song because it is pretty much relatable. In an interview, the singer talked about the track’s inspiration. Which came from her own experience of being bullied as a child.
“I wanted my first song to have a good meaning to it, and to help a lot of people be more confident about themselves.”
Clearly, the song is about women (or people in general) receiving continual criticism about their bodies. Let us know in the comments down below if you love the song.
