We haven’t binge-watched a Netflix original in a long time, but that changed when the video-streaming platform aired Shadow and Bone, based on the Leigh Bardugo book series by the same name. Everyone was wondering, will there be a season two? You bet your horses, yes there will! The show, with its immediate success, paired the incredible popularity of the book series, GUARANTEED season two of the show. But there has been no confirmation by Netflix so far.
But how will things play out? Careful… if you haven’t seen the season one yet, there MIGHT be spoilers up ahead! The ultimate question is… how will that cliffhanger ending impact the future of all Grisha moving forward? As you can see (or cannot), we’re all in the dark too right now, considering what can be expected in the second season. What we do, however, know is:

We can certainly expect the following cast members to return for season two of Shadow and Bone when the show comes to our screens:
Another cast member we may expect to see more of is Sujaya Dasgupta, who plays Zoya Nazyalensky. According to the author, Zoya’s tale holds primary importance when it comes to advancing the plot which is why her role has already been increased in season one:
“With the most recent instalment of the Grishaverse, which is Rule of Wolves — the second and last installment of the King of Scars duology — I have put, if not a period, then at least a very firm semicolon at the end of these stories for myself. I know now where Zoya’s story is going.”

Despite the fact that Netflix’s adaptation differs from the books in certain ways, the summary for the second novel, Siege and Storm, should serve as a guide for what to expect in season two of Shadow and Bone. Will Jessie Mei Li’s Alina Starkov eventually own her abilities and her potential, or will she fall to the darkness?
One major plot twist we will surely see is the entrance of Nikolai, a pirate prince who turns out to be none other than the former King of Ravka. Showrunner Eric Heisserer alluded about his presence in an interview, but didn’t go into detail beyond stating his name.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any Grisha abilities. But we can reasonably predict that no new Shadow and Bone footage or teaser trailers won’t be released for a while. Meanwhile, entertain yourself by viewing Ben Barnes GIFs repeatedly.
