I am sure many of you know Joe Rogan. For those of you who don’t know, Joe Rogan is one of the most popular podcast hosts in the world. In a recent episode, Joe said that white men are being “silenced” due to the “woke” culture. I mean, what!? All of you must be thinking that this might be a satire but it is NOT. Joe was very serious when he talked about this.
Many people criticized and mocked Joe Rogan for this statement. Last week, on his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience”, he invited the very famous standup comedian Joe List. Rogen talked to him about evolving boundaries of what makes for ‘acceptable’ movies. He also said how the woke culture has changed the world of comedy altogether.
Rogan asked List:
Can you make a good comedy movie anymore? or have they made it so dangerous in terms of being cancelled that comedy movies are just not something you can do anymore?
He further added that one can never be “woke” enough in these movies and that’s the problem now. He also said:
It keeps going further and further down the line and when you finally get to the point where you capitulate, where you agree to all these demands, it will eventually get to that straight white men are not allowed to talk.
Does Joe Rogan really think white men are silenced?
Joe Rogan kept ranting on how nowadays straight white men are silenced and if it keeps going this way straight white men would eventually no longer be allowed to go outside. Joe List laughed in response and Rogan added that he’s not joking, he thinks it would become a reality. Rogan said that they have got to be nice to each other because many people are taking advantage of the weirdness in this new culture.
People on social media laughed about how the person who has 11 million listeners per episode and sold the show to Spotify for about 100 million dollars talked about the danger of being silenced.
