For Millennials. By Millennials.
Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder share one of the most powerful and controversial on-screen love triangles ever. Elena Gilbert couldn’t choose between the Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon in the show. In reality, though, we know her choice was clear as Nina dated V Wars actor, Ian for quite some time. But, where does that leave us with the other brother? In a podcast with former The Vampire Diaries stars, Kayla Well and, Candice King, Directionally Challenged, Nina reveals how she truly felt about Paul. And it is not good news.
Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show. I respected Paul Wesley, I didn’t like Paul Wesley.
Nina Dobrev said she did not like her on-screen boyfriend Paul Wesley.
I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they’d be like, ‘Are you and Paul dating in real life?’ Because everyone thought that we had such good chemistry.
Nina Dobrev says that both she and Paul Wesley could not stand to be around one another as they ‘despised’ each other.
There’s a fine line between love and hate. And we despised each other so much, that it read as love. We really just didn’t get along the first maybe five months of shooting.
Both Kayla Well and Candice Accola know what she is talking about as the two were there. Kayla acts as the role of Vicki Donovan and Candice as Caroline Forbes. Caroline is the one who marries Stefan Salvatore in the end. Such an adorable yet heartbreaking ending they have. Nina Dobrev although she says that now they are good friends, justifies her feelings towards Paul Wesley.
It’s like a relationship, we were basically married without (…) we were together every day, we were kissing and doing all this stuff.
We do know that they get along well now after years together as they meet often even after TVD has come to an end. For some fans, Stelena shall live forever.
