Lucy Hale and Michael Pena starer Fantasy Island 2020

Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars) and Michael Pena (Ant-Man 2015) starer Fantasy Island 2020 (Sony) will hit the screens next month. The modern adaptation of Gene Levitt’s 1977 ABC series of the same name is now a Jeff Wadlow creation. It is all set for a 14 February 2020 release date.

What is Fantasy Island 2020 about?

The new year brings a new season of horror movies and their release date mostly fall in the winters. In the last decade, January through March has seen big releases like The Witch (2016), The Boy (2016), Split (2017), A Cure for Wellness (2017), Raw (2017), Get Out (2017), The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018), Escape Room (2019) and Us (2019).

Sony Picture’s Fantasy Island 2020 is no exception and will add to the chills this winter. Jeff Wadlow’s collaboration with Lucy Hale and Michael Pena is an adaptation of Levitt’s 1977 series of the same name.

The plot of Fantasy Island revolves around the enigmatic Mr. Roarke (Michael Pena). The star of hits like Shooter hosts his guests in this luxurious resort. One of the guests is Lucy Hale’s character. He turns the lucky guests’ dreams into a reality in this remote tropical resort but things get out of control when the dreams transform into nightmares. In the wake of the unforeseen events, the guests must solve the mysteries of this Island to escape with their lives.

Who else is in this 2020 Supernatural/ Horror Film?

Sony is releasing Fantasy Island through Blumhouse Productions next month. The story is written by Jillian Jacobs & Chris Roach and Kick-Ass 2’s Jeff Wadlow is its director.

Fantasy Island’s line-up also stars the likes of Maggie Q (Mission Impossible III) and Austin Stowell of Whiplash (2014). Portia Doubleday (Her 2013) and Jimmy O Yang of The Lego Movie are also part of Fantasy Island, alongside Michael Pena & Lucy Hale. Jason Blum produces the film under his Blumhouse Productions and the release date is set for next month’s Valentine’s Day.
