For Millennials. By Millennials.
Well, time surely flies and changes everything! If you know what I mean. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are two of the biggest musicians in the world. And thankfully for their fans, they’re also friends who love to collaborate on songs together.
After some time, we finally have a new song collaboration from the two: ‘The Joker And The Queen’. And guess what? It’s a sequel to their first every collaboration in 2013 ‘Everything Has Changed’.

In 2013, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran collaborated for the first time on ‘Everything Has Changed’
Everything Has Changed
In ‘Everything Has Changed’ we see kids who seem like younger versions of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. The kids are seen falling in love in the most adorable way possible. They’re seen hanging with each other in their school in different settings. The boy even reads ‘The Notebook’ to the girl as she lays down next to him. She dances for him, and he sings for her.
All I knew
This morning when I woke
Is I know something now
Know something now I didn’t before
And all I’ve seen
Since eighteen hours ago
Is green eyes and freckles and your smile
In the back of my mind making me feel like
Ooof the lyrics really tug at your heartstrings;
‘Cause all I know is we said, “Hello”
And your eyes look like comin’ home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
And you’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday
Is everything has changed
Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift also make a cameo in the music video. Swift picks up the young girl as presumably her mother and Sheeran picks up the young boy presumably as his father. Well, they’re pretty young, so they could be their elder siblings.
‘Everything Has Changed’ was from Taylor Swift’s Red Album. She did re-record the song with Ed Sheeran for her Taylor’s version last year. But the original music video remains there.
And now in 2022, we have ‘The Joker And The Queen’ featuring the same actors all grown up
Yes, they’re all the same actors! The resemblance is uncanny and fans didn’t take long to notice it. However, Ed Sheeran himself revealed that ‘The Joker And The Queen’ was a continuation of ‘Everything Has Changed’.
“The joker and queen featuring @taylorswift13 is out right now. Me and Taylor first met and wrote + recorded our first song together in 2012, ten years ago now, I’m so so honored to have her on this song. Not only is she the best singer/songwriter in the world but she’s also a very close friend, I’m very lucky to have her in my life. For the music video we got the kids from our song Everything Has Changed, all grown up and off to college now!”
The kids are indeed all grown up as they reminisce about their times together in high school where they’re not spending much time together anymore:
I was upside down
From the outside in
You came to the table
And you went all in
With a single word
And a gentle touch
You turned a moment
Into forever
But at the end, they reunite in their hometown and it seems like their love is not totally lost! Hopefully, they can make long-distance work. Totally rooting for the fictional couple created in the Swiftverse.
You can expect nothing short of perfection when you put Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran into a song collaboration, just look:
And I know you could fall for a thousand kings
And hearts that could give you a diamond ring
When I fold, you see the best in me
The joker and the queen
The vocals are also beautiful as their voices merge together so smoothly. The gentleness of Ed Sheeran’s voice matches the sweetness of Taylor Swift’s.
It’s such an amazing concept and brilliantly executed! What did you think of the song and the music video? Let us know!
