In a recent interview with Tyrone Magnus on YouTube, Snyder opened up about the upcoming Black Adam movie. Moreover, the interviewer asked him about rumors that Johnson was hoping for his character to be connected to the Snyderverse. Of course, Snyder doesn’t have a working relationship with Warner Bros. as of yet, so he isn’t aware of what’s going on behind the scenes. But he does say that it is possible since The Flash movie is bringing back his version of Batman (portrayed by Ben Affleck). He believes Johnson’s Black Adam “could fit in the world,” saying:

Yeah no, I mean, I think he could fit in the world, so it’s interesting. In the Flash movie, you’re gonna see my Batman, and… I don’t know.

He’s not aware of what Black Adam holds for DC fans. But, as far as restoring the Snyderverse is concerned, Snyder isn’t confident that it will happen. He told Jake’s Takes:

Warner Bros. has been aggressively anti-Snyder if you will. What can I say? Clearly, they’re not interested in my take. But I would also say that they certainly weren’t interested in — I would have said originally — in my take on Justice League. They certainly made decisions about that.

Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson is hyped about Black Adam

As far as The Rock is concerned, he doesn’t just want to leave an impression on DC with Black Adam. He instead wants to tilt the balance completely as fans have known it. In an Instagram post, Johnson wrote:

If you know the comic book mythology, then you know where his pain comes from. His rage. His wife and children killed, His people brutally enslaved. He is not a superhero, but rather a champion. Of the poor and beaten down. Of the people. And he is the most unstoppable force in the DC UNIVERSE. I’m very pleased with the movie we’re making. Black Adam’s mythology, ethics and actions no doubt will create a new paradigm in the world of superheroes, villains & antiheroes. The power will shift. The line will blur. From a slave to a God.

Jaume Collet-Serra will direct Black Adam, with Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani writing the screenplay. The movie will also feature Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan and will feature the original DC superhero team, the Justice Society of America. The release date is set for July 29th, 2022.
