For Millennials. By Millennials.
It looks like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s tempers have yet to cool down. They both recently had a brawl at the Harpers’ Bazaar Icons party. It happened at the New York Fashion Week last month. We saw wigs, shoes, and emotions flying all over the place. It now seems that they can’t be seen in a room together without making headlines.
Cardi B Relentlessly Going After Nicki Minaj Over And Over Again…
Reports have surfaced that Cardi B is going to release a diss track regarding her ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj. Cardi B’s albums are usually autobiographical. So, it comes as no surprise that she wants to be vocal about her feelings now as well. Even though the rapper herself wants to keep things real. Her team may not agree with her.
A source close to the publication revealed that the songs contain lyrics which ‘take serious jabs’ at Nicki Minaj. Cardi B’s team, however, wants her to ignore her arch-enemy since they feel ‘the lyrics would actually benefit Nicki by putting the spotlight on her’ and that ‘she’s already eclipsed Nicki,’ so, therefore, it’s probably best to pretend she doesn’t even exist.
Things have quickly escalated over the past couple of months and now only time will tell which Hip Hop Queen will come out on top, unscathed.
The Feud is Far From Being Over
While Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were supposedly friendly towards each other at the MET Gala in May this year, things have since gone downhill.
Allegedly Nicki Minaj insulted Cardi B’s parenting skills with her three-month-old daughter- Kulture, which led to the notorious brawl in September. They both later went on to state that the other had bought their way into chart successes as well.
In an interview with Beats 1 on Apple Music Nicki Minaj stated, ‘I was mortified … I could not believe how humiliated I felt …. how we – and I use the term ‘we’ loosely – made ourselves look. ‘I would never discuss anyone’s child. It’s so sad for someone to pin that on me’.
However, with that said, Nicki did go on to launch an entire collection of merch mocking Cardi B and cashed in on the drama. Maybe it’s Cardi’s turn now to profit from the spectacle as well?
I think it’s safe to say that fans of both of their music are visibly distressed by the ongoing drama because *GASP* there are still people out there who like them both regardless of the fact that they’re both aggravating the situation further and neither one of them wants to be the bigger person and move past the drama.
