The Umbrella Academy Season 2 Coming in July 2020

After more than a year’s wait, Netflix is all set to release The Umbrella Academy season 2. While the original cast will resume their roles, three additional characters have been added to the storyline.

Based on the comic book of the same name, the show is a refreshing take on the superhero story

Written by Gerard Way, the comic book is a six-issue limited series. On the other hand, the Netflix show was created by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater. The story revolves around a dysfunctional family of seven adopted siblings who have reunited after their father dies. However, many secrets are revealed, and some mysteries solved. Although they still have a lot to figure out, the siblings have come together after a long time. The cast includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige. After the release of The Umbrella Academy season 1, Netflix reported that 45 million viewers watched the show. Due to immense praise and positive reviews from critics, The Umbrella Academy season 2 was renewed immediately.

Recently, the release date and other details about The Umbrella Academy season 2 were revealed.

After a long wait, Netflix finally announced the release date and that too in an interesting manner. In a video, all the Hargreeves siblings are seen dancing to 80s hit song, I Think We’re Alone Now,  and at the end, the reveal the date. The Umbrella Academy season 2 will be coming on July 31st. However, that is not the only detail about the second season. In the next season, three new characters will be introduced who are also set as series regulars. The new additions, Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood and Marin Ireland, will have new characters that are not included in the original comic books. However, it would be interesting to see how they fit in the story and what these characters are all about.

The announcement of The Umbrella Academy season 2 has made quarantine a bit more tolerable.
