Showtime TV show Shameless Star Emmy Rossum Leaving Show

In the hit TV show Shameless, by the Showtime network, a cast member that has stayed for eight long seasons, Emmy Rossum reveals that she is now leaving the show. She posted this announcement in an emotionally worded Facebook post this Thursday. In it, she talked about how her time there affected her life in such a positive way.

Emmy mentioned the popular fact that it takes 10,000 hours to master anything and that the Shameless cast and crew definitely spent such a time together. They not only managed to create something amazing but also bonded with each other in a very special way. She added in the fact that she was an only child so this fictional Gallaghar family became the family she always wanted. The prior fact is cemented by the fact that she was there to help the cast members in some real life events such as helping Emma shave off her legs or teaching Ethan to drive. Cast members Jeremy, Joan, Bill and Ethan danced to her wedding last year. It’s obvious that the family we saw on screen had proper bonds with each other off-screen as well.

And it’s not just because it’s a wonderfully written, wonderfully layered show. There are these real connections, real friendships that bring us back season after season after season.

Her gratitude to the entire show and its crew was beautifully expressed. Emmy stated that the stability and positive environment of the set really inspired her to grow as an actress. It’s heartwarming to hear that from one of the audience’s favorite character Fiona.

She even talked about how strong and resilient the character she played was. Consequently, she knew it was going to be a hit right from the start. She appreciated how layered the character was who was not only fierce but also vulnerable on the screen at times. Despite anything, Fiona chose to never gave up and Emmy Rossum is certainly proud of playing that role. Many of the fans would be proud of her well.  People are really sad that she is not going to be on the ninth season.

Quite simply, the last eight years have been the best of my life.

The creators of the show, on the cable network of Showtime, Wells stated to USA today that Emmy Rossum will forever be an important part of the Shameless family. They also mentioned they’re working hard on to make the ninth season the best one yet. They hope that it will honor Fiona and Emmy’s work on the show for years.
