The Dollface actress shares some joyful news with her fans and followers recently. Shay Mitchell reveals that she’s actually pregnant with her second child. This news comes after she lost her grandmother, with whom she was very close to. Mitchell penned a thoughtful and beautiful caption on Instagram sharing her thoughts on love, life and loss. Something that we all can relate to at multiple points in our lives.

Shay Mitchell was incredibly close with her grandmother, or as she likes to call her ‘Gram’. She shared everything with her and hence losing her was a very difficult experience for her.
“I think anyone who knows me knows the relationship I have and have always had with my, “Gram.” Although inevitable, it would nevertheless be one of the hardest things I would ever have to go through the day she’d pass.”
Mitchell called her Gram her best friend, someone who was a huge a part of her life. Shay Mitchell shared that her grandmother was her best supporter.
“She was and will forever be my best friend. From the imaginary games she would play with me when I was little to picking me up from high school because I was being bullied. To keeping scrapbooks of every article and magazine cover I have ever been in. She was my # 1 cheerleader. My heart is broken.”
Shay Mitchell says that even though she’s so incredibly grateful that her Gram got to spend time with her family and her daughter Atlas, she’s still in a lot of pain.
“Although I feel so grateful to have been able to spend such incredible moments with her and my family over 34 years. Plus having Atlas also be able to have her own special relationship with her. It’s hard to say that this will ever get easier because right now the pain I feel is excruciating knowing that she is gone. I really don’t have words and haven’t even called close friends to tell them. Because a part of me wants to pretend like everything is the same and that I’ve just gone a few days without FaceTiming her. The reality is too much for me right now. Because I have always shared her with the world. I felt like I also needed to share the experience I am going through now which is trying to celebrate her life and the memories we have had with smiles in between the grieving.”
Mitchell ended the note telling all her followers to call their grandparents if they were still alive because life’s too short. She also hoped that her Gram would be looking down on her, with a drink in hand too.

The actress got candid in an Instagram post saying that she’s experiencing a “cycle of life” where she’s welcoming someone into her family while at the same time she’s saying goodbye to another family member.
“Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life. It is also my most challenging season to date.”
Mitchell says that she thinks it was the universe’s plan all along to time her second pregnancy right after losing her grandmother.
“I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need other worldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life. Yet, this is proof that love, life and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way.”
Shay Mitchell has one daughter, Atlas Noa Babel with her boyfriend Matte Babel. They started dating in 2017 and are still going pretty strong.
