Shawn Mendes and Camila Mendes are related?

Who here hasn’t wondered if the two up and coming stars, Camila Mendes and Shawn Mendes are related? We certainly have! There’s just the similarity in their last names but we have more than often thought of their relation to one another. Also, the fact that some people have said that they even look alike. Are Shawn Mendes and Camila Mendes related?

Capital FM says:

The answer is no – they just coincidentally hit fame with the same last name!

They two having the same last name is purely a coincidence. While Shawn Mendes is a renowned singer, recently ‘If I can’t have you,’ Camila is Riverdale‘s adorable actress Veronica Lodge.

It is assessed that the similarity is often brought upon the fact that Camila Mendes has the same first name as Camila Cabello. The later is Shawn Mendes‘s girlfriend. The two have worked together in the making of 2019’s hot and hit song, Senorita. So, Camila Mendes just so happens to be a name that Shawn and Cabello’s shippers really want to hear.

Capital FM further goes on to clarify that Shawn Mendes and Camila Mendes are from totally different regions.

Shawn is from Canada and is of Portuguese descent, whilst Camila is from the US and is of Brazilian heritage.

So, there you have it. Shawn and Camila Mendes are in no way related. And Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes only just got together in 2019. So, it’s a little too early to assume that they would be marrying and changing names. In fact, Camila Cabello feels their relationship is too exhausting right now for them to even work together. Well, we’re still crossing our hearts and waiting for that day.
