Camila Cabello Covers Shawn Mendes’ ‘If I Can’t Have You’
If who can't have whom?
Everyone knows and loves the Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes chemistry. The two are probably one of Hollywood’s most shipped ‘not together’ couple. After their steamy performance at the AMAs everyone fell so in love with the two. Last week Cabello appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The two got in a friendly feud over music from 1999 vs 2019’s music.
The Camila Cabella Vs James Corden Riff-off.
James Corden is one of the most loved Late Show hosts. His most popular segments include The Carpool Karaoke and Riff Offs. So, to end their feud over which songs are more memorable, the two decided to settle it with a classic Late Late show Riff-Off featuring the Filharmonics.
James Corden has done this many times before. Singers like Liam Payne, Anna Kendrick, John Legend and Shawn Mendes have gone up against Corden in his Late Late Show.
The general pattern is that James says something in favor or against a certain type of music and a singer shows up challenging him. He then talks about the Filharmonics and their presence and the show goes on!
Usually, this challenge ends with both (James and said singer) doing a solo together from whichever side is more in favor.
The Romance Album Singer sings Shawn Mendes
As the riff-off between James and Camilla kicks off, she starts with the 2019 country song by Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X, Old Town Road. We all know how much a hit that one is. James comes back to this by Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca. His next song is Santana’s Smooth.
Just as James thinks he might have the upper hand, Camila hits him with Shawn Mendes’s ‘If I can’t have you’. This song is the title track to Shawn Mendes’s 2019 album If I can’t have you. Many fans theorized that song is made for Camila.
We don’t know that for sure but Camila sure put it to good use to come back to Corden. After this, they settled the feud doing Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s hit single Senorita!
