Sex Education’s Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey Explore America’s South!

Published by

The groundbreaking new British teen drama Sex Education on Netflix is a story unlike you have heard before. It’s about a teenager Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) with a sex therapist mother with absolutely no boundaries Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) who allies with a fellow high school mate Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) to create an underground sex therapy clinic at their high school. And Otis has a black gay best friend with a really compelling story on his own Eric Effoing (Ncuti Gatwa).

It’s a TV show that tackles the teenage psyche really well and sets up an example showing that it’s okay to admit you have troubles in bed. Moreover, it has strong feminist connotations where all the females have strong stories and complex personalities (Sex Education fans will get this pun). But the main cast Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa and Emma Mackey are on an American tour exploring the deep south! And they seem to be having a lot of fun.

Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa Have a Jolly Good Time!

Sex Education stars Asa Butterfield, Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa get a true South American experience. They eat, dance, shop and all round have a pretty good time! The trio even try alligator for the first time.
Check out their entire road trip down below:

Their off-screen friendship is pretty evident in the entire video! The cast’s actual chemistry with each other assists in making this an even better TV show. In fact, the characters of Adam Groff (Connor Swindells) and Aimee Gibbs (Aimee Lou Wood) are dating in real life! This is one of major acting gigs of actors Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa, but it doesn’t seem like the case due to their stellar and talented acting on Sex Education. Though we have seen Asa Butterfield quite a few times in Hollywood before. We’ve seen him in Hugo, The Space Between Us, Nanny McPhee Returns and Ender’s Game. British audiences recognize him from his character Mordred on Merlin. However, it doesn’t seem like Asa Butterfield is using his lengthy acting career as an excuse to be pointlessly pompous with his cast mates Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa.

Be sure to tune in to Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa as they return with an all new Sex Education season 2 next year probably. The first season of Sex Education, created by Lauri Nunn,  is available to stream on Netflix now. Kate Herron and Ben Taylor were the directors and the writing staff comprises of Sophie Goodhart, Laura Hunter, Laura Neal, Lauri Nunn, Bisha K. Ali and Freddy Syborn.
