For Millennials. By Millennials.
With the global pandemic nearing its 8-month mark, a lot of people are struggling. However, as businesses open back up around the world, there are millions who earn their annual wage by working in less consistent jobs. For them, those little gigs and projects run their households. An example of this would be workers who work backstage in concerts, play gigs, open for stars, etc. One Direction members Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson take to their social media to ask fans to join and support these teams. These people make their living in the back ends of Coachella and other big-scale events. However, this year we didn’t have as many of those public gatherings as usual. So, this means that those people haven’t had a place to work.

Live gigs and festivals can’t happen without the hard work of an incredible team behind the scenes, but without gigs all of those people are out of jobs and the live music industry is at risk.
Niall says in his Instagram post. Each year, a great proportion of the entertainment industry celebrates artists in big festivals. However, due to the 2020 global health crisis, this year they did not happen. He believes that with all these months the people behind the organization are more or less, out of a job. Louis also added a similar post talking about his crew from his tour that was cut short back in March 2020 due to the Pandemic. Both Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan want their fans to trend #LetTheMusicPlay.
The hashtag is supposed to be an appeal to the Government of the United Kingdom to support these workers. Their hard work needs to be recognized. The singers believe that they would not be this big without their coordination and help:
The live music industry is such an important part of being an artist and today is about coming together to ask the UK government to protect and support all of the hard working and talented people who come together to create these shows, and give a clear plan of how the live music industry will restart.
Both the boys originally from the British-Irish boy band thanked these workers who make their shows possible! Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik are all enjoying their successful solo careers now!
The boys were all supposed to reunite for a special One Direction reunion. But unfortunately, that did not happen. Instead, we only got a website and one video commemorating their work. This left fans devastated and heartbroken. Let’s see if fans will get a proper reunion or not.
