The Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie has spoken up in favor of her decision to work with the famed director Quentin Tarantino despite controversy. Robbie who remains a huge fan of Tarantino is still satisfied with her decision to work in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In fact, she is happy to have gotten the opportunity after she wrote him a letter asking for one. Despite people slamming Tarantino for being an irresponsible director, Robbie claims to have been prepared about the backlash in advance.
Ever since the beginning, Robbie dreamed of working with the much acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino. She made a self-vow that she would write a letter to him asking for an opportunity. But only after she believed she was a good enough actress. So, acting on it, Margot Robbie wrote to the director expressing how she would love to work with him at any capacity. Coincidentally, at that time, Tarantino’s friends had been suggesting him to cast Robbie as Sharon Tate in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Consequently, Margot was invited to read lines from the script, and ended up joining Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in the movie.
However, Margot Robbie faced some backlash due to Tarantino’s controversy that erupted in February 2018. Apparently, actress Uma Thurman accused him of having her perform a dangerous stunt on the sets of Kill Bill. The actress claimed that he made her drive a car which did not have a secure driver’s seat. And that resulted in her getting serious injuries.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino’s first movie ever since the controversy erupted. But despite all the criticism, Margot Robbie has decided to stand firm on her choice. However, the though of receiving negative media attention did cross her mind. She revealed that,
Like, will people view this decision as conflicting with what I’m doing on the producing side?
Margot Robbie added that working with Tarantino was her life-long dream. But what makes her sad is that people might hold this against her despite everything else she might do. However, the actress certainly does not regret her choices.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood starring Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie is all set for a release later in July this year.
